The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Nursery Outdoor Learning Specialist to join our founding team and lead engaging outdoor experiences for children aged 0 to 5 years at our setting opening later this summer! You will inspire curiosity, confidence, resilience, and a love of nature through child-led exploration and structured outdoor activities aligned with the EYFS. This role involves planning and delivering high-quality outdoor learning opportunities that support children’s physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development in a safe and stimulating environment.

Key Deliverables:
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate outdoor learning activities and experiences.
- Create an inclusive, safe, and engaging outdoor environment that encourages exploration and play.
- Support children’s development in line with our outdoor learning curriculum.
- Promote curiosity, independence, problem-solving, and teamwork through outdoor activities.
- Carry out risk assessments and maintain high standards of health and safety outdoors.
- Develop seasonal and nature-based learning opportunities, including gardening, sensory play, forest school-style activities, and environmental awareness.
- Observe, assess, and record children’s progress and share feedback with parents and colleagues.
- Work collaboratively with nursery staff to integrate outdoor learning into the wider curriculum.
- Maintain outdoor equipment and ensure learning spaces are organised and well-resourced.

What you’ll need to succeed:
- A passion and dedication to providing care to children specifically within outdoor education.
- To hold a full and relevant early years qualification of Level 3 or above.
- To hold a Forest School qualification or outdoor learning certificate, or be willing to work towards achieving this.
- At least a level 4 (Grade C) in GCSE English or Level 2 Functional Skills.
- Prior experience of working with children aged 3 months to 5 years.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A strong desire to learn and grow within your role.
