Are you passionate about feeding little minds and tummies? We're on the lookout for a Food Champion to join our nursery team - someone who sees the kitchen as a place where care, creativity, and community come together.

The Role:
- Serve delicious balanced meals that children and parents trust and in accordance with the nursery's nutritional guidance for the under-fives
- Ensure all meals are prepared in line with documented allergy information and dietary requirements for each child
- Implement strict processes to prevent cross-contamination, including the use of clearly labelled, separate utensils, equipment and preparation areas where necessary
- Ensure compliance with all relevant H & S and hygiene regulations including COSHH and food hygiene standards
- Responsible for maintaining clear and accurate records related to food preparation, cleaning schedules, stock levels and equipment maintenance
- Maintain a safe, clean and hygienic kitchen, always meeting food hygiene and health & safety standards
- Comply with all company policies around preparing and serving the food including managing various dietary requirements
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has a great eye for detail and a genuine pride in their work
- Can work independently but is also happy to be part of a team
- Understands (or is willing to learn) basic health & safety and hygiene procedures
- Brings a positive attitude and a caring approach to everything they do
- Holds a Food Hygiene qualification (or is willing to work towards one)
- Has a genuine love for working in an environment with children
- Can plan ahead, stay organised, and work independently
- Effectively communicates with colleagues and management regarding schedules, supply needs and any maintenance issues
