Are you a passionate quality and safeguarding leader who believes that every child deserves the very best start in life?
We're My Ohana, a growing group of nurseries and crèche settings with one simple but powerful purpose: giving every child an outstanding foundation. As we continue to grow, we're looking for an exceptional individual to join our senior leadership team as Head of Quality & Safeguarding.
This is a unique opportunity
This is not a desk-based compliance role. You'll be out in our settings regularly, working alongside our Nursery Managers and operational teams, building trust, identifying risks early and coaching people to be their very best. You'll bring the specialist expertise our organisation needs to assure quality and keep children safe, while also being the kind of leader who rolls up their sleeves and gets involved.
Reporting directly to our CEO, you'll sit at the heart of our organization, providing independent assurance to our Board, challenging standards with confidence and playing a central role in shaping how My Ohana continues to grow and improve.
What you'll be doing
- Leading safeguarding across our Group - providing expert oversight, managing concerns and building a culture where safeguarding is everyone's business.
- Developing and delivering our quality assurance and audit framework, including quality audits, mock Ofsted inspections and being part of the six-week post-opening reviews.
- Supporting our settings to be genuinely inspection-ready and helping our teams feel confident and prepared.
- Working alongside the Operations director, providing oversight and assurance of EYFS practice, curriculum implementation and SEND provision across all settings.
- Translating learning from audits, incidents and inspections into real, lasting improvements.
- Being a visible, credible and trusted presence for our Nursery Managers and their teams; someone they can go to for honest advice, practical support and real challenge.
- Reporting to our CEO, SLT and Board with clarity and confidence, ensuring our leadership always has the insight they need.
What we're looking for
- Significant experience in quality assurance, safeguarding leadership or regulatory compliance within an early years or childcare setting.
- A deep and current understanding of the EYFS, Ofsted inspection frameworks, safeguarding legislation and SEND requirements.
- Experience of leading or conducting quality audits, mock inspections or assurance reviews across multiple sites.
- The credibility and confidence to provide independent challenge to operational leaders while maintaining strong, collaborative working relationships.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to address the board and also inspire a room full of nursery practitioners.
- A genuine commitment to outstanding outcomes for children and the drive to make that a reality, every day.
What we offer
- A senior leadership role, reporting to the CEO
- The rare opportunity to build something from the ground up, shaping the quality and safeguarding function of a growing organisation
- A warm, values-led team who care deeply about doing the right thing for children and families
If this sounds like the role you've been waiting for, we'd love to hear from you.
Applications are welcomed from candidates with experience across childcare, early years, social care, education and related regulated sectors.
