Street Patrol Officer - Colchester Pay: £14.50 per hour Job Description: Location: Colchester Job Type: Fixed-term, 3 months Shift Pattern: Day Shift Shift Hours: 40 hours per week, 5 days a week 10:00am - 18:00pm 8-hour shifts Requirments: Valid Frontline SIA Licence essential Previous security, street patrol, or public-facing security experience is preferred Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong conflict management and de-escalation skills Professional appearance and attitude Reliable and punctual Comfortable working outdoors Key Responsibilities: Conduct regular foot patrols across assigned areas of Colchester Maintain a highly visible and professional security presence Help deter anti-social behaviour and other suspicious or inappropriate activity Respond calmly and appropriately to incidents and disturbances Provide assistance, guidance, and reassurance to members of the public Monitor surroundings and identify and report suspicious activity Liaise with colleagues, management, emergency services, and other relevant parties when required Follow all company policies, procedures, and site instructions Complete accurate and detailed incident reports when required Maintain a professional and approachable manner at all times Skills Strong observational skills with the ability to detect suspicious behaviour or safety issues quickly Knowledge of loss prevention techniques to prevent theft and vandalism effectively First aid certification to provide immediate assistance during medical emergencies Excellent communication skills for engaging with the public and collaborating with emergency responders Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure while handling challenging situations This role is perfect for motivated individuals passionate about community safety and eager to make a positive impact.
