Street Patrol Officer - Colchester
Pay: £14.50 per hour
Job Description:
Location: Colchester
Job Type: Fixed-term, 3 months
Shift Pattern: Day Shift
Shift Hours: 40 hours per week, 5 days a week
- 10:00am - 18:00pm
- 8-hour shifts
Requirments:
- Valid Frontline SIA Licence essential
- Previous security, street patrol, or public-facing security experience is preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong conflict management and de-escalation skills
- Professional appearance and attitude
- Reliable and punctual
- Comfortable working outdoors
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular foot patrols across assigned areas of Colchester
- Maintain a highly visible and professional security presence
- Help deter anti-social behaviour and other suspicious or inappropriate activity
- Respond calmly and appropriately to incidents and disturbances
- Provide assistance, guidance, and reassurance to members of the public
- Monitor surroundings and identify and report suspicious activity
- Liaise with colleagues, management, emergency services, and other relevant parties when required
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and site instructions
- Complete accurate and detailed incident reports when required
- Maintain a professional and approachable manner at all times
Skills
- Strong observational skills with the ability to detect suspicious behaviour or safety issues quickly
- Knowledge of loss prevention techniques to prevent theft and vandalism effectively
- First aid certification to provide immediate assistance during medical emergencies
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with the public and collaborating with emergency responders
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure while handling challenging situations
