A private family is seeking a warm, kind and emotionally supportive visiting carer for their 83-year-old father who has dementia. The successful candidate will provide personal care, practical support and companionship during 2-3 visits per day, working around mealtimes. This is a permanent part-time role, working 10-14 hours per week.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage and administer medicines
  • Help the client with getting around the home
  • Support the client with getting dressed
  • Buy groceries and prepare meals
  • Undertake household tasks such as cleaning and laundry
  • Drive the client to appointments
  • Provide friendly companionship and emotional support
  • Help the client look after their pet cat, including daily feeding
