We pride ourselves on being a unique service. We offer personalised support to a diverse range of individuals living in their own homes and in our respite chalets. Each person has their own dedicated team, delivering support that's tailored specifically to their needs and preferences. This isn't a one-size-fits-all approach—it's about making sense for them and making a difference.
About the Role:
You will be a key part of our frontline support team, delivering high-quality care while taking responsibility for the smooth day-to-day running of the team. You'll work closely with the Team Manager to provide effective leadership and hands-on support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily Living Support: Support with daily activities, outings, and planning meals and preparing food.
- Community Adventures: Accompany this young man on outings – including visiting steam railways, cinema trips and walks.
- Skill Building & Independence: Work alongside him to develop life skills that boost his confidence and self-sufficiency.
- Be a Friendly Confidant: Build a genuine connection with this young man, providing companionship, encouragement, and positivity every day.
- Health & Well-being Monitoring: Look out for his safety, well-being, and overall happiness, always keeping communication open with his family and care team.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking committed and compassionate individuals who bring both practical care experience and the ability to lead by example.
Essential:
- NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Health & Social Care
- Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, complex care needs or mental health needs
- Confidence in handling behaviours that challenge and applying consistent, person-centred support strategies
- Experience maintaining and managing accurate care records, risk assessments, and support plans
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks
- Flexibility to work across a 4-week rolling rota, including weekends and public holidays
- Strong values that align with My Life's mission of inclusion, dignity, and empowerment
- A full Driver's Licence is required
Desirable:
- NVQ Level 3 or working towards
- Previous experience in a team leader or senior support worker role
- Knowledge of CQC standards and safeguarding procedures
