We’re looking for an Employment Solicitor to join our growing team at My Law Solicitors in Wakefield. This is a hands-on, client-facing role working across employment law matters, with a strong focus on advising on Settlement Agreements and delivering clear, practical advice to clients.
We are a small, specialist employment law firm. We are deliberately not a “rat race” workplace — we focus on delivering high-quality legal work in a calm, professional environment, with realistic workloads and strong client care.
This role is centred around advising on Settlement Agreements, including speaking directly with clients (video / face-to-face), reviewing agreements, and liaising with employers to progress matters efficiently. You will work closely with Leah (Employment Solicitor), with support available where needed — but this role is suited to someone who is comfortable contributing from an early stage and handling matters with a good degree of independence.
We operate with structured, manageable caseloads and a clear focus on quality and client care. We are not driven by aggressive billing targets or volume-based pressure. This is a permanent, office-based role in Wakefield (parking included). Full-time is preferred, although part-time will be considered for the right candidate.
- Advising on general employment law issues (e.g. unfair dismissal, discrimination, grievances)
- Has experience in employment law or has developed transferable skills from a similar advisory role
- Is confident speaking with clients and able to explain legal concepts clearly and practically
