Locum Ready is looking for a Locum General Practitioner to work for a GP practice in Consett. This role is well-suited to GPs seeking flexible, well-organised sessions within a supportive primary care environment that offers a clear structure for daily clinical work.
You will manage a varied caseload, deliver high-quality patient assessments and provide continuity where required. The practice offers strong administrative support, established clinical workflows and a team-focused approach to patient care, ensuring efficient and manageable session delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Running routine and urgent GP clinics
- Managing acute presentations and complex cases
- Providing telephone consultations and triage as part of daily workflow
- Reviewing investigations, results and medication queries
- Prescribing safely and appropriately
- Documenting consultations clearly using the clinical system
- Supporting the practice with clinical actions and follow-up tasks
Requirements
- GMC-registered General Practitioner
- Active inclusion on the NHS Performers List
- Recent UK primary care experience
- Strong clinical decision-making and communication skills
- Familiarity with EMIS, SystmOne or similar systems
- Valid indemnity and Enhanced DBS
Working Pattern
- Ad-hoc or regular weekly sessions
- Full-day or half-day availability
- Ongoing bookings with potential for long-term arrangements
