LEGIONELLA RISK ASSESSOR

LEGIONELLA RISK ASSESSOR

Full-Time On-site
M

FULL-TIME PERMANENT FIELD-BASED LONDON & SOUTH EAST

SALARY: Β£38,000–£45,000 PER ANNUM

My Aqua Limited is seeking an experienced, technically competent Legionella Risk Assessor. We have developed a dedicated digital template and programme that enables the entire risk assessment to be completed during the site inspection. Following this process is an essential condition of the role.

NON-NEGOTIABLE: EVERY RISK ASSESSMENT MUST BE COMPLETED ON SITE, ON THE SAME DAY AS THE INSPECTION, BEFORE LEAVING THE PREMISES.

We do not operate a model where assessors collect notes and photographs on site and write up assessments at home or in the office afterwards. There is no leeway on this requirement.

What complete on-site assessment means

  • Complete every applicable section of the My Aqua digital risk assessment template during the visit.
  • Inspect and accurately document every relevant water-system asset and item of equipment. Record manufacturer, make, model, serial number, capacity, technical specifications, location and condition wherever available and applicable.
  • Enter all temperatures, measurements, observations, photographs, risk findings, risk ratings and recommendations on site.
  • Produce a clear, accurate hand-drawn water-system schematic on site. The office team will arrange professional CAD drawing afterwards.
  • Document inaccessible assets or unobtainable information explicitly, including the reason; never guess, assume inspection, or invent technical details.
  • Finish and submit the complete site assessment before departure, with no avoidable gaps or outstanding write-up.

Accuracy is essential

We expect meticulous, asset-by-asset recording. Generic descriptions, copied data, incorrect equipment identification, missing serial numbers where accessible, and avoidable omissions are unacceptable. The assessment must accurately reflect the actual installation and provide technically justified recommendations.

Responsibilities

  • Independently assess domestic hot and cold water systems across residential, commercial and other premises.
  • Apply ACOP L8, HSG274, BS 8580-1:2019 and other relevant guidance.
  • Inspect CWSTs, calorifiers, water heaters, booster systems, TMVs, distribution pipework and associated assets.
  • Identify hazards and deficiencies, evaluate control measures, and specify proportionate remedial actions.
  • Communicate access restrictions, significant findings and site issues promptly to the office team.

Essential requirements

  • Proven experience independently conducting Legionella Risk Assessments and producing accurate technical reports.
  • Strong understanding of water-system design, operation, compliance and relevant Legionella guidance.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, including equipment identification and technical data capture.
  • Ability to draw accurate hand schematics and use digital reporting software confidently on site.
  • Methodical time management, independent working and a full UK driving licence.
