My 1st Years is the UK's leading personalised baby and kids gifting brand - a £22m UK ecommerce business with a growing US operation and the ambition to match. We're building the commercial infrastructure to take us there, and this newly created role sits right at the heart of it.

We're looking for an Ecommerce Trading Manager to bring dedicated commercial focus to our UK site: owning the trading calendar, running a structured CRO programme, and shaping how we merchandise and personalise the site experience. You'll have real authority to make decisions, challenge how things are done, and build a testing programme that moves the needle on CVR and AOV from quarter one.

WHY YOU'LL WANT THIS ONE

  • A newly created role with a genuinely blank page - you'll shape the trading function, not inherit someone else's playbook.
  • Direct commercial ownership of CVR and AOV on a £22m site, with the autonomy to test, challenge and act on what you find.
  • Line management from day one - two direct reports to develop, with proper support if this is your first time leading a team.
  • A seat close to the action: presenting your 90-day plan straight to the Head of Performance & Ecommerce.
  • A business scaling into the US, giving real scope to grow the role as the wider trading function grows.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Owning the UK trading calendar - planning and executing promotions, seasonal moments and category pushes.
  • Running the CRO test roadmap end-to-end: hypotheses, test design, execution and analysis.
  • Driving onsite merchandising strategy - category pages, product sort, homepage and collection curation.
  • Managing the Nosto personalisation platform and continuously improving the onsite experience.
  • Delivering a weekly trading report with clear commentary and recommended actions for the leadership team.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • 4–6 years in ecommerce trading, site merchandising or CRO, ideally at a DTC or pureplay retailer.
  • A genuine commercial operator's instinct - you've owned revenue targets and know which levers to pull.
  • Hands-on experience with a major ecommerce platform and a merchandising tool (Nosto, Algolia, Dynamic Yield or similar).
  • Confidence with data — GA4 or equivalent, strong Excel/Sheets, and reports that tell the right story.
  • Experience managing junior team members, or clear readiness to step into line management with the right support.

A BIT ABOUT US

My 1st Years is the UK's leading personalised baby and kids gifting brand. We design beautiful, personalised products and get them into customers' hands through our own site, retail partners and marketplaces around the world — and we're only getting started.

We're ambitious, proactive, thoughtful, connected and aspirational — five words that show up in how we work as much as in what we make.
