MXT Swimming School is looking for qualified and unqualified swimming teachers to join our team. You will become part of a team that delivers the highest quality, specialised one-to-one swimming lessons. Lessons run six days a week at our two venues in Sussex: Steyning Grammar Towers, Upper Beeding and MXT Rydon, Storrington (Steyning Grammar School – Rock Road Campus).

We are looking for swimming teachers at both venues, with after school, weekend, term-time and school holiday hours available. Successful applicants will be able to choose their venue, days and times they are available for.

Job Role

  • Deliver fun, safe and high-quality one-to-one and group swimming lessons
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Assist in setting up the equipment for lessons
  • Assist in the presentation of the facilities
  • Be responsible for the health, safety and wellbeing of participants, spectators and colleagues
  • Have knowledge of safeguarding children and vulnerable groups, pool safety operating procedures, and relevant legislation – training will be given

Person Specification

  • Hold a STA Level 2 Award in Teaching Swimming (or Swim England Level 2 Swimming Teacher)
  • Hold a STA Level 2 Award in Safety Award for Teachers (or equivalent)
  • Have knowledge of health, safety and relevant legislation related to teaching swimming
  • Be able to understand and relate well to others including children and adults
  • Be able to motivate and inspire participants with good communication skills
  • Be able to provide a friendly approach to excellent customer service
  • Be well organised and motivated

Applicants who do not currently hold a recognised qualification may be able to apply for funding to train with our sister company MXT Centre for Training.
