Join Alcura, part of Cencora, and help deliver an accurate, efficient homecare pharmacy service that makes a real difference to patients behind the scenes. We’re looking for a qualified Pharmacy Dispenser to join our Homecare Pharmacy team in Northampton. This is a non-patient-facing, Monday to Friday opportunity, ideal for someone who enjoys working in a structured, quality-focused environment and takes pride in accuracy, teamwork, and patient care.
Working under the direction of the Responsible Pharmacist and Pharmacy Management Team, you’ll support the safe and timely processing and dispensing of prescriptions, with a particular focus on Low and Mid Tech therapies. You’ll be part of a motivated team committed to high standards, compliance, and excellent service.
What you’ll be doing:- Processing and dispensing prescriptions accurately in line with SOPs, quality standards, and legal requirements
- Supporting the efficient dispensing of Low and Mid Tech prescriptions
- Helping resolve pharmacy-related queries in a timely, professional manner
- Raising non-conformances in line with company policy
- Supporting corrective and preventative actions to help maintain patient safety
- Deputising for the Low/Mid Tech Senior Dispenser when required
- Working closely with pharmacists, managers, and wider colleagues to ensure a smooth workflow and timely prescription processing
- Supporting the implementation of new contracts and projects where needed
- Maintaining compliance with Pharmacy SOPs, GDP, Health & Safety, confidentiality, and GDPR requirements
- Helping ensure the security of people, premises, and stock by following established procedures.
- Essential:
- Pharmacy Dispenser NVQ Level 2
- Previous dispensing experience in a pharmacy setting
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work effectively in a busy team environment
- Strong communication skills and a professional approach to handling queries
- A proactive mindset and commitment to high standards of service and patient safety
