Job Purpose

The HR Business Partner (HRBP), Global Functions, will provide HR business partnering support to designated global functions within World Courier. The role acts as a key connection point between the business and HR, supporting leaders in the delivery of people plans, HR processes, organisational effectiveness activities and employee-related initiatives aligned to business needs.

Working as an individual contributor within the HR Business Partnering team, the HRBP will build a strong understanding of the supported functions, their priorities and operating model. The role will support leaders with practical, proactive and people-focused HR solutions, while partnering with Centres of Expertise and HR Operations to ensure effective delivery of global HR programmes and processes.

The role requires strong stakeholder management, sound HR judgement and the ability to work in a global, matrixed environment. It will support activities such as talent management, performance management, workforce planning, employee engagement, organisational change, employee relations coordination and implementation of enterprise-led people initiatives.

Principal Accountabilities

  • HR Strategy and People Plan Support
    • Support the implementation of HR strategy and enterprise people priorities across designated Global Functions within World Courier.
    • Partner with HR leadership and business leaders to translate functional priorities into practical people actions.
    • Contribute to the delivery of annual HR processes such as performance management, talent review, engagement survey action planning, compensation planning and workforce planning.
  • Business Partnering
    • Build effective relationships with functional leaders and managers to understand business priorities, people needs and future challenges.
    • Provide day-to-day and tactical HR guidance while escalating complex or high-risk matters appropriately.
    • Support leaders in building high-performing, engaged and inclusive teams.
    • Use people data and insights, where available, to identify trends and support decision-making.
  • Working with Centres of Expertise
    • Partner with Employee Relations, Legal and local HR teams on employee relations matters, performance concerns and sensitive people situations.
    • Work with Talent Acquisition to support workforce planning, recruitment needs and selection processes for supported functions.
    • Collaborate with Talent Development and Learning teams to identify development needs and support targeted interventions.
    • Partner with Total Rewards and Compensation teams on compensation-related processes, job evaluations and reward initiatives as required.
  • Organisational Effectiveness and Change
    • Support organisational design, role clarity, resource planning and change initiatives within the supported functions.
    • Help leaders prepare and implement people-related change activities, including communications, stakeholder engagement and transition support.
    • Promote a constructive and people-focused approach to change, ensuring alignment with company policies, values and local requirements.
  • Talent, Performance and Employee Experience
    • Support talent review, succession planning and development planning activities for designated areas.
    • Advise managers on performance management, development conversations and effective follow-up actions.
    • Support employee engagement initiatives and help leaders translate survey outcomes into meaningful action plans.
    • Champion a positive employee experience and support initiatives that strengthen culture, inclusion and collaboration.
  • Projects and HR Programme Delivery
    • Contribute to HR projects and initiatives that support Global Functions and wider World Courier priorities.
    • Coordinate HR activities and follow-up actions, ensuring timely execution and clear communication with stakeholders.
    • Support implementation of global HR programmes, tools and processes, adapting delivery to the needs of supported functions where appropriate.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required

  • Generalist HR experience, preferably in an international or matrixed organisation.
  • Experience partnering with managers and functional leaders on HR topics, people processes and employee matters.
  • Good understanding of HR practices across performance management, talent management, employee relations, recruitment, compensation processes and organisational change.
  • Ability to build trusted relationships and communicate effectively with stakeholders across different countries, cultures and functions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, practical judgement and ability to balance business needs with employee experience and compliance considerations.
  • Good project coordination skills with the ability to manage priorities and follow through on actions.
  • Comfortable working with data and HR systems to support analysis, reporting and decision-making.
  • Collaborative working style, with the ability to partner effectively with HR COEs, HR Operations and local HR teams.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience as an HR Business Partner, HR Generalist or similar HR role supporting business leaders or functional teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Law or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong English communication skills; additional languages would be an advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • CIPD qualification or equivalent HR certification preferred but not essential.

  • Supports designated Global Functions across World Courier.
  • Works with managers and functional leaders to deliver people plans and HR processes.
  • Contributes to employee engagement, talent management, performance, workforce planning and change initiatives.
  • Partners closely with HR COEs, HR Operations, local HR teams and other HRBPs.

Level of Decision Making

  • Provides recommendations and practical HR advice within agreed policies, frameworks and processes.
  • Supports implementation of people plans and HR initiatives for designated client groups.
  • Resolves routine HR matters and escalates complex, sensitive or high-risk issues to the appropriate HR leader, Employee Relations, Legal or COE partner.
  • Contributes to functional people planning and HR project delivery.
