Job Details:

  • Location: South Normanton
  • Hours: 40 hours per week, 6am - 2pm

Key Tasks:

  • Ensure that all direct reports adhere to the Company Health & Safety policies/standards at all times.
  • Ensure that all accidents and near misses are reported immediately to the HS&E Manager.
  • Ensure that all department activity is performed in accordance with company procedures and client instructions.
  • Understand all functions of the warehouse and offer support, leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Maximise profit and minimise cost paying particular attention to planned and used hours through Cognos.
  • Control the weekly charging reports including any Ad hoc activity.
  • Ensure all contact with clients/customers is both professional and responsive to their needs.
  • Ensure that the KPI results are to agreed targets and/or plans are in place to achieve set targets.
  • Brief the team at regular intervals.
  • Actively support and encourage teamwork throughout the workplace.
  • Encourage continuous improvement in all areas of contract operations and be pro-active in identifying problem areas and suggesting solutions.
  • Identify members of staff that require training and arrange for the training to be carried out alongside the HR team.
  • Ensure Supervisors are sufficiently trained to deal with any operational issue.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and at least once annually conduct a performance appraisal with each report.
  • Discipline staff in line with the Company Discipline and Grievance Procedure.
  • Recruit staff in accordance with the Company Procedure, gaining the appropriate authorisation.
  • Monitor staff appearance, ensuring that the company uniform is worn and is clean and in presentable condition ensuring that all staff wear identity badges.
  • Ensure H&S guidelines are adhered to and all staff are aware of their responsibilities.
  • Attend weekly Managers review.
  • Ensure the shift handover log is completed and communication between shifts/contracts is maintained at all times.
  • Ensure daily H&S/Housekeeping checks are completed.
  • Understand GDP and ISO.
  • Ensure Inventory routines are maintained.
  • Ensure that all MHE checks are completed when required and MHE is only used by authorised personnel.
  • Walk the warehouse daily noting any issues with the racking, MHE or product damage along with any housekeeping issues.
  • Ensure any Customer Service issues are dealt with in the agreed timescales.
  • Understand the quality requirements of the contract and ensure staff are trained accordingly.
  • Ensure that any query or complaint is investigated and dealt with accordingly.
  • Monitor product returns and warehouse damages to ensure targets are met.
  • Carry out any reasonable requests as determined by Senior Management.
