This role supports Alcura, a Cencora business providing pharmaceutical and patient support services across Europe. We are recruiting for a qualified Pharmacist to join our Homecare Pharmacy team in Northampton. This is an excellent opportunity to work as part of an enthusiastic and highly motivated Homecare Pharmacy team, to deliver an organised, efficient and accurate dispensing service which exceeds customer expectation by your dedication to patient care.

Responsibilities:
  • To perform the role of a pharmacist within Alcura, which will include final accuracy checks, clinical checks and providing clinical advice and support to all areas of the business.
  • To act as Responsible Pharmacist as and when required, as defined in the prevailing regulations.
  • To work alongside the other members of the Pharmacy Management Team and assist with the management and organisation of all teams within the Pharmacy department.
  • Assist in ensuring all team members are trained in key competencies for their role.
  • Adhere to all SOPs and raise any non-conformances in line with company policy.
  • Maintain compliance with CRM and Pharmacy Manager Procedures.
  • To provide professional support to other functions within Alcura.
  • To provide an 'on call' service for the business out of hours when required.
  • Perform the required roles and responsibilities of a pharmacist within the Alcura Pharmacy, to include clinical checks and final accuracy checks. Ensure compliance with current legislation and professional guidance.
  • Conduct and support with formal and informal training, predominantly internally but may include conducting external training on occasions where experience and knowledge permits.
  • Complete any queries to a timely resolution, which will involve communicating professionally both internally and externally with patients, clinicians, customers and colleagues.
  • Assist in and manage the implementation of any corrective and preventative actions as needed to ensure patient safety is maintained.
  • Undertake training as needed and required for your role in full and on time, ensuring all key competencies are achieved so that excellent standards of service are maintained.
  • Provide support where required, to the pharmacy operation, which may include undertaking dispensing work in line with current legislation and company policy.
  • To help the site management ensure the security of the personnel, premises and stock always, following established procedures and protocols.
  • Always maintain GPHC registration. Undertake regular CPD and relevant training to ensure an up-to-date knowledge of new and existing therapeutic areas.
  • Work closely with other members of the Pharmacy Team in reviewing current processes within the department to ensure that it operates effectively, safely and efficiently.
  • Assist the Superintendent Pharmacist and Pharmacy Management Team in delivering the pharmacy customer service, safety, cost and quality objectives.
  • When required, assist the Pharmacy Management team to complete CAPA investigations for complaints and incidents through Q-Pulse, helping with the implementation of appropriate preventative actions where needed.
  • Provide drug and technical information to colleagues, patients, clinicians and other healthcare professionals, to help Alcura provide our customers with the best possible service where knowledge and experience permits.
  • Ensure that all legal and technical requirements of the GPhC are met.
  • Ensure that all prescriptions are processed in a timely and accurate manner.
Requirements:
  • Qualified GPHC registered Pharmacist.
  • Eligible to fulfil the role of 'Responsible Pharmacist' - must have requirement.
  • Good organisational skills preferably with experience in a variety of pharmacy environments.
  • Good computer literacy.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to articulate clinical conversations including with patients and clinical staff.
  • Proven and solid work performance record (proof of accuracy level).
  • Experience of working within a variety of pharmacy settings - nice to have.
  • Understanding of Homecare Pharmacy - desirable.
