Senior SHEQ Advisor role at MWH Treatment.

MWH Treatment is looking to strengthen their SHEQ Team with a Senior Health and Safety Advisor for our ESD Framework. MWHT is part of the ESD joint venture delivering construction schemes to maintain and improve Scottish Waters water supply and wastewater treatment works across Scotland. You will report directly to the SHEQ Manager and will advise the SHEQ team at a senior level.

Responsibilities

• Understanding our approach to managing SHEQ risk and delivering best in class performance at a Senior Level.
• Maintaining a dynamic and driven approach to supporting SHEQ across the company.
• Facilitating the development and implementation of policies, procedures, management systems and risk controls to reduce risk and support a positive SHEQ culture at MWH.
• Organising audits and supporting the delivery and execution of SHEQ assurance audits.
• Conducting accident/incident investigations and/or supporting investigations conducted by the Head of SHEQ.
• Integrating within the wider project teams to understand day-to-day challenges.
• Liaising with the Central SHEQ team.
• Working with clients to deliver collaborative approaches to SHEQ.
• Exposure to the project management lifecycle of project delivery.
• Highlighting opportunities for sustainable solutions.
• Trending and analysis of key performance data.
• Maintenance of externally certified management systems.

About You

Essential

• Ability to collect, analyse and evaluate large volumes of data whilst maintaining data integrity.
• Ability to identify trends in data and clearly articulate the issue or findings.
• Proven experience of working as part of a SHEQ team.
• Ability to interpret legislation and Approved Codes of Practice.
• Good organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to work both as a team member and under own initiative.
• Good communicator who’s comfortable engaging at all levels within the organisation as you will be advising the team at a senior level.
• Confidence to make decisions whilst recognising when appropriate to escalate issues or concerns.
• Good Microsoft Office skills especially Visio, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Flexible approach to work in terms of both time and location.
