Based in the Thames Water region (Maple Lodge office), you will report directly to the Regional Discipline Lead (Mechanical). Our challenging programme of work, across a variety of water and wastewater schemes, is expected to be in the region of £400M. Key responsibilities will include: Report to Design Managers, Technical Discipline Lead, Regional Discipline Lead, and Engineering Manager. Produce complex design layouts which are cost-effective, meet the requirements of the specification, and can be constructed and commissioned effectively. Production and checking of all design deliverables including specifications, schedules, drawings, and calculations. Work alongside other disciplines for the development of site/plant 3D model. Ensure that standard designs & practices are utilized wherever possible. Deliver the design stage outputs of each project within the agreed timescale and budget. Coordinate design outputs across all technical disciplines. Provide estimates and feedback for proposals department. Establish working relationships with construction staff and supply chain representatives to promote buildability and supply chain efficiency in design outputs. Work to procedures and processes to ensure the continuing development of the department. Assist in developing procedures and processes. Monitor and review the procedures and processes. Write, update, and monitor efficient procedures to aid the smooth running of the department. Ensure coordination of designs with all other disciplines internal and external to MWHT to ensure that the design processes are coordinated for the benefit of the entire contract. Maintain files and records throughout the duration of contracts. Assure customer satisfaction. Chair operability and maintenance workshops with the client to review solutions ensuring operability and maintainability of the design. Work within a culture where satisfying the customer is key to achieving other objectives, recognizing all beneficiaries of our processes. Assist in supervising and developing staff. Assist in ensuring a safe working environment for all staff. Reduce waste from all departmental activities. Ensure designs consider environmental issues.
