MWH Treatment are looking to strengthen our SHEQ team with a Senior H&S Advisor project based within the UU region. At MWH Treatment we believe that people matter. You will report directly to the SHEQ Framework Manager and your role will cover advising the SHEQ team at MWH at a Senior level.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Understanding our approach to managing SHEQ risk and delivering best in class performance at a Senior Level.
  • Maintaining a dynamic and driven approach to supporting SHEQ across the company.
  • Facilitating the development and implementation of policies, procedures, management systems and risk controls, which will help reduce risk and support a positive SHEQ culture at MWH.
  • Organising audits and supporting the delivery and execution of SHEQ assurance audits.
  • Conducting accident/incident investigations and/or supporting investigations conducted by the Head of SHEQ.
  • Integrating within the wider project teams to understand day to day challenges.
  • Working with our clients to deliver collaborative approaches to SHEQ.
  • Exposure to the project management lifecycle of project delivery.
  • Highlighting opportunity for sustainable solutions.
  • Trending and analysis of key performance data.
  • Maintenance of our externally certified management systems.

Technical Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of UK health & safety legislation, CDM Regulations, and HSE guidance.
  • Experience with SHEQ management systems (e.g. ISO/OHSAS 45001) and audit processes.
  • Data analysis, trend identification, and reporting.

About You

Essential:

  • Ability to travel to all sites in region.
  • Extensive experience in the Construction sector.
  • Detailed knowledge of current and pending HSE Directives for health and safety.
  • Detailed knowledge of current statutory health and safety law in the UK.
  • Detailed knowledge of Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM).
  • Detailed knowledge of good practice in construction, e.g. HSE guidance and approved codes of practice.
  • Knowledge and experience of OHSAS 45001 (or similar management systems).
  • Formal qualification in Occupational Safety and Health, e.g. NEBOSH diploma or better.
  • Membership of recognised H&S Institution to an appropriate level.
  • Construction-related health and safety qualification such as NEBOSH Construction.

Desirable:

  • Experience in the water sector.
  • Current full driving licence.
  • Ability to collect, analyse and evaluate large volumes of data whilst maintaining data integrity.
  • Ability to identify trends in data and clearly articulate the issue or findings.
  • Proven experience of working as part of a SHEQ team.
  • Ability to interpret legislation and Approved codes of Practice.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work both as a team member and under own initiative.
  • Good communicator who’s comfortable engaging at all levels within the organisation as you will be advising the team at a senior level.
  • Confidence to make decisions whilst recognising when appropriate to escalate issues or concerns.
  • Good Microsoft Office skills especially Visio, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • CSCS card.
  • Certified or Chartered membership of IOSH.
