MWH Treatment is looking to strengthen their Engineering team with a Senior or Civil Engineer based at our head office in Hattersley. You will provide high-quality Engineering Design services to help the company minimize risks and maximize profits on turnkey and engineering services contracts.
The individual must coordinate the design and produce civil design documents and drawings, considering health and safety requirements, specifications, and standards related to the contract.
Your responsibilities will include:

Producing cost-effective civil design layouts that meet specifications and can be effectively constructed and commissioned.

Utilizing standard practices whenever possible.

Maintaining competitiveness.

Providing estimates and feedback to the Proposals department.

Working according to procedures and processes to support departmental development.

Monitoring and reviewing procedures and processes.

Writing, updating, and monitoring efficient procedures to ensure smooth departmental operations.

Coordinating designs with all disciplines, internal and external, to ensure integrated design processes for the benefit of the contract.

Maintaining files and records throughout the contract duration.

Fostering a culture where customer satisfaction is key to achieving objectives, considering all beneficiaries of our processes, including end users and other departments.

Minimizing waste from all departmental activities.

Ensuring environmental considerations are incorporated into designs.

Ensuring designs fully comply with health and safety requirements.
Essential requirements:

Several years\’ experience in Civil design within the water/process industry.

Understanding of water and sewage treatment principles.

Membership of a professional institution, chartered or nearing chartership.
Preferable:

Civil Engineering degree.
Minimum:

Civil Engineering HND.
Ability to rationalize designs and produce economical plant layouts.
