We are looking to strengthen our Engineering team in the @one Alliance with a Lead Infrastructure Engineer based at Peterborough or a suitable Anglian regional office, with hybrid working available.
You will report directly to the Senior Design Manager and will provide civil and pipeline engineering technical reviews, guidance, and inputs to both clean water and water recycling infrastructure projects. Your role includes supporting design for infrastructure schemes, ensuring all designs are fit for purpose and compliant with current legislation and standards.
You will have dual reporting lines to the Senior Design Manager (Engineering) and the Principal Infrastructure Engineer. Your responsibilities include reviewing and accepting key project deliverables (PCI, drawings, models, calculations) across an infrastructure (pipeline) program, providing technical expertise in clean or wastewater pipeline design, and maintaining engineering standards. You will mentor junior engineers and support continuous improvement and innovation within the team.

Key responsibilities include:
- Reporting regularly to the Principal Engineer.
- Collaborating with project stakeholders on milestones and review schedules.
- Ensuring drawings and calculations meet quality, safety, and technical standards.
- Managing project reviews, site queries, and change requests.
- Leading design review meetings and participating in CDM and commissioning strategies.
- Working with CAD and design teams to optimize processes.
- Implementing risk management hierarchies in design.
- Conducting site visits as appropriate.
- Coordinating with other departments to meet project standards and timelines.
- Managing project quality through BIM360 workflows.
- Supporting other engineering leads and discipline engineers.
Qualifications:
- Degree in water/wastewater engineering or related field (preferred).
- Proven experience as a senior discipline engineer with technical expertise in potable and wastewater pipeline design.
- Knowledge of design software, project management, and quality assurance.
- Construction experience and strong stakeholder management skills.
- Understanding of pipe materials, civil, mechanical, hydraulic principles, and construction interfaces.
