MWH Treatment is looking for a Learning & Development Manager for a 12-month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave, based at our head office in Hattersley leading a small team within the People function. As L&D Manager, you will manage the Learning and Development function and lead on key initiatives and projects across the business while undertaking daily tasks and continuous improvement.
You will report directly to the Head of People and the responsibilities will include:
- Lead and deliver on key business wide L&D projects. Current projects include Onboarding, Talent and Succession and Career Pathways.
- Work with HR Business Partners to ensure all projects are managed successfully and rolled out across all regions effectively.
- Manage the Annual Performance Review Process (Let’s Talk) and develop annual training plan for approval and delivery by the L&D team.
- Manage relationships with key training providers, education institutions and professional bodies ensuring quality content and training.
- Develop and deliver training sessions across a variety of topics including delivering Building Connections (MWHT Induction event).
- Lead on Early Careers Strategy and oversee management of Graduate and Apprenticeship programmes by L&D Advisor.
- Have accountability, responsibility and management of ECITB and Apprenticeship Levy.
- Manage MWHT’s Learning Management System and other training platforms.
- Provide updates and reports to others in the People team, SLT and wider business.
- Responsible for advising the business of any legislative or best practice changes within Learning and Development and ensure all processes and policies are kept up to date.
- Manage the L&D Advisor and Administrator.
- Develop internal communication campaigns for L&D events and initiatives.
Essential Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Experience of developing and delivering on L&D projects
- Knowledge of Early Programmes, Apprenticeship Levy, ECITB Levy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including presentation / delivery skills
- Excellent Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
- Self-motivated, able to work to tight deadlines
- Willingness to develop further
Desirable Qualifications
- CIPD qualification
- Experience within the construction industry
