MWD architects + makers is looking for an experienced Part 2 Architectural Assistant or qualified Architect to join our team in West Wales. MWD is an award-winning sustainable design architect studio specialising in low impact architecture and community projects. The successful candidate can expect to work on all RIBA stages, on a range of exciting projects from master planning to bespoke houses, listed buildings and small scale commercial.

We strive to create a friendly and collaborative environment where staff are encouraged to take part in design workshops and weekly project meetings as well as assume ownership of individual projects. Led by Mark Waghorn, an award-winning Architect and champion of environmental design, we strive to deliver high-quality environments that use available resources responsibly for the benefit of future generations. We believe that good quality design develops through observation and the active process of learning by doing. We take pleasure in the handmade, the use of local, natural materials and the enjoyment of simple things. We believe that real luxury derives from the ability to live in harmony with one's environment. Our ultimate goal is to make sustainable and low impact living accessible to all.

Responsibilities

  • The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on all RIBA stages of projects.
  • A range of exciting projects from master planning to bespoke houses, listed buildings, and small scale commercial.

Minimum Requirements

  • Good working knowledge of ArchiCAD.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an architectural practice.
  • An understanding of UK Building Regulations.
  • Proven experience in residential led design at RIBA stages 1 – 4.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign and Photoshop.
  • Knowledge of D5 Render.
