We are looking for a full time Passivhaus Designer who has a thirst for retrofit. We use a range of testing methods and specialist equipment to build science based energy assessments of existing buildings. We work to the latest standards for all our work including PAS2035, PAS2038, The Passivhaus Standard and AECB Standards.
Applicants can expect to receive extensive technical support and we are looking for someone who is willing to be hands-on, assisting with on-site retrofit assessments and various testing methods. We work on numerous community projects and you can expect to be engaging with householders and members of the community as part of this role.
The work is primarily focussed on domestic and non-domestic buildings in the north east of Scotland, with additional projects across the rest of Scotland. Travel to sites across Scotland is required.
- Qualified in a built environment profession
- Certified Passive House Designer/Consultant with experience using PHPP
- Must be competent in CAD and have working knowledge of SketchUp
- Working knowledge of Scottish Building Standards
- Capable of working autonomously and as part of a team
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, design teams, contractors and local authorities
- Must be self motivated, punctual, organised and never afraid to ask questions
- Hold a full UK driving licence
- Climate literacy and awareness of the challenges faced by the construction sector
- Interested in community focussed solutions
- Whole Life-Cycle Analysis experience
- Hands on construction experience, building or renovating houses
- Knowledge of thermal bridge analysis using Flixo
