The role supports the business through robust financial planning, performance analysis, and insightful reporting to drive continuous improvement. It partners closely with Operations, Sales, and Finance to provide clear, practical financial insight that supports decision-making.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the business through planning, analysis, and providing clear insight to drive performance improvements
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and reforecasting processes, ensuring alignment with business activity
- Producing regular analysis on performance, including variance analysis across price, volume, mix, and cost
- Providing insight into customer and product profitability, highlighting risks and opportunities
- Analysing inventory trends (stock levels, ageing, slow-moving items) and supporting actions to improve working capital
- Working with Operations, Sales, and Finance to provide relevant and practical financial insight
- Helping standardise reporting and improve consistency of KPIs across the business
- Supporting working capital initiatives through analysis of inventory and customer trends
- Presenting financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders to support decision-making
- Building understanding of financial performance across the business and challenging where appropriate
Skill requirements:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with strong FP&A and commercial finance experience
- Strong analytical and modelling capability, with ability to translate data into actionable business insight
- Ability to influence and challenge non-financial stakeholders effectively
- Advanced Excel and modelling skills; strong presentation capability
- Occasional travel required
Working Hours: Monday – Friday (38 hours per week, half day Friday)
Location: Round Spinney, Northampton (Office based, with some flexibility for occasional Home working)
Pension: 4% employer contribution
Annual Leave: 25 plus bank holidays
