You will join our friendly team in an open-plan office designed for a collaborative mindset. With an on-site free gym and regular team socials, we make sure that everyone's work/life balance is healthy. MWA is a commercially focused accountancy practice working with ambitious, founder-led businesses across the UK. Our focus is on management reporting, financial clarity and helping clients make better decisions, not just year-end compliance.

We are now looking for an experienced practice Accounts Senior to join our team and support the delivery of management accounts.

The Role

This is not a standard practice accounts position. You’ll be preparing and reviewing management accounts across a portfolio of clients. But the real focus is ownership - making sure clients get the financial clarity we promise, from day one. When a new client joins MWA, they receive our 90 Days to Financial Clarity guarantee. You’ll be the person who makes that happen - getting to grips with their books, coordinating across the team, and ensuring they leave onboarding with clean, current and commercially useful financial information. Beyond onboarding, you’ll be the ongoing point of contact for management reporting - not just producing the figures, but talking clients through them and spotting where additional support would genuinely help.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Preparing monthly and quarterly management accounts across a client portfolio
  • Taking ownership of new client onboarding within the 90-day guarantee
  • Presenting and discussing management accounts with clients in plain, commercially useful language
  • Identifying trends, anomalies and opportunities within client financials
  • Supporting forecasts and basic scenario analysis
  • Getting up to speed with new software when clients bring unfamiliar systems
  • Helping improve reporting processes and consistency across the team
  • Speaking with potential clients
  • Assisting team members with technical and practical help when required
About You

You’re likely:

  • ACCA / ACA qualified, part-qualified, or qualified by experience
  • At least 5 year's experience in a UK accountancy practice
  • Experienced in preparing management accounts across multiple clients
  • Confident talking clients through their numbers, not just producing them
  • Organised, reliable and someone who takes ownership and follows through
  • Commercially aware - you can spot when a conversation might open a door
About MWA

We are:

  • Commercially minded
  • Structured and process-driven
  • Calm and practical in our approach
  • Focused on delivering what we say we will

We work with founder-led businesses who value clarity, control and understanding of their numbers.
