A banking institution based in the City wish to recruit a Card & Clearing Processing Specialist to join our Operations team. This role is critical in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of card transactions, settlements, and clearing activities across multiple payment networks.
Key Responsibilities
- Process daily card transactions including authorisations, settlements, and reconciliations
- Manage clearing activities across card schemes (e.g. Visa, Mastercard)
- Investigate and resolve transaction discrepancies, breaks, and exceptions
- Monitor settlement files and ensure timely posting to customer accounts
- Support chargeback and dispute handling processes
- Liaise with internal teams (Fraud, Finance, IT) and external partners
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls
- Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives
Key Skills & Experience
- Experience in card operations, payments processing, or banking operations
- Strong understanding of card lifecycle, clearing, and settlement processes
- Familiarity with SWIFT, scheme rules, or payment networks is advantageous
- High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
- Proficient in Excel and banking systems
