An exciting opportunity to develop your career in a dynamic underwriting environment. Our client is a UK insurer with a strong footprint in the wholesale and retail insurance markets. As a key aspect of a strategic development plan, they are seeking to hire an experienced Motor Underwriter to spearhead the evolution of the private motor product line and underwriting proposition. In addition to underwriting risks, you will work closely with the C.E.O to enhance product offerings, review appetite and pricing, develop distribution pipelines and reinvigorate the existing book. There is also the scope to become Product Lead and manage a small team which will grow over time. In addition to strong motor underwriting expertise, this role will suit someone who is ambitious, innovative, driven and looking for an opportunity to take ownership and make a real impact. Responsibilities: Underwrite personal motor insurances within agreed guidelines and authority levels. Underwrite new and existing businesses, provide quotes and negotiate pricing. Develop and strengthen relationships with brokers, providing technical support. Provide high quality customer services and deal with all queries. Ensure accurate policy documentation issued to brokers or customers. Liaison with other departments such as Claims, Finance and IT. Requirements: At least 8 years personal lines motor underwriting experience. Knowledge of insurance product features and processes. Good knowledge on regulatory and compliance requirements. Strong communication and negotiating skills. Able to work collaboratively but also independently. CII qualification and degree level education is desirable.
