Our client is a large Lloyds Broker looking for a Broker Operations Manager to join their expanding team. The purpose of the role is to complete all post bind activities for the broking teams in an operational capacity by ensuring efficient processes and practices are in place and are adhered to within a busy department. Also, to be overseeing the day to day running of the team and provide support to senior management through the strategic development of the team.
Main Duties:
- Effective day to day oversight of the team
- Hiring of new staff
- Daily oversight of workloads and effectively manage team trays to meet daily / weekly and monthly SLA's
- Resolution of internal or external complaints or escalations
- Production of team MI for senior management
- Coach, Mentor and development of team
- Work as part of a management team to agree and implement system enhancements
- Work as part of a management team to agree and implement the strategic development to the department
- Establish and implement effective controls to monitor the day-to-day activities of the team.
- Ability to step in and assist team members with day-to-day activities including processing and production of documentation
- Checking formal documents (including, but not limited to, BIDs, Certificates, Endorsements, MRCs, Policies etc.) for accuracy prior to processing and issuance of formal documentation to clients and markets
- Ability to complete internal audits as per group procedures
- Attend relevant London Market committee meetings or seminars where required
- Assist other managers where required and step in and assist with the management of other teams where required
- Production and analysis of daily / weekly and monthly reports relating to KPI's within the team, and reporting to management.
Key Skills/Experience:
- Previous role within a similar position
- High understanding of all London/ Lloyds Market procedures
- Knowledge of the regulatory requirements of general insurance in operation at any time
- Ability to find innovative solutions to technical coverage issues
- Ability to delegate
- Ability to complete tasks, including the checking of documentation and data with the highest standard of accuracy
- Ability to apply own judgment and experience when making decisions or giving advice to clients, including when to refer to an alternative appropriate expert
- Highly developed communication skills, both verbal and written, that are effective and meet business needs
- The ability to prioritise workload and manage time effectively
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines when required
- Excellent Communication skills, writer and verbally
- Ability to develop effective working relationships internally and externally
- Ability to successfully manage a team ensuring Service levels and KPI's are always met.
- Ability to work as part of a successful management team
