Salary 39.49 to 42.59 hourly (To be negotiated) / 40 hours per week.

Terms of employment: Permanent employment, Full time. Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

Responsibilities:

  • Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of commercial transport truck systems.
  • Confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace unit.
  • Discuss work with supervisor.
  • Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions.
  • Review work orders.
  • Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems.
  • Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of truck-trailer systems.
  • Repair or replace mechanical units or components.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance service.
  • Complete reports to record problems and work performed.
  • Coach and instruct apprentices.

Credentials:

  • Truck and Transport Mechanic Trade Certification.
  • Truck and Transport Mechanic Red Seal Endorsement.

Experience and specialization:

  • Area of specialization: Brake system, Automatic transmission, Heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system.

Additional information:

  • Security and safety: Criminal record check, Driving record check (abstract).
  • Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence.
  • Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Hand-eye co-ordination, Standing for extended periods.
