Contract Night Transport Supervisor – Immediate Start!

Mon – Fri 22:00 – 06:00 3 month contract

Are you an experienced transport leader looking for a challenging, short-term contract? MVP is partnering with an award-winning national logistics business to find a dedicated Night Transport Supervisor for an immediate, 3-month contract role. This is a critical opportunity to step in and provide essential leadership during their core overnight operations.
This role, working Monday to Friday, 10pm to 6am, offers an excellent opportunity to make an immediate impact, with the potential for extension.
You'll proactively manage transport operations to ensure they are compliant, efficient, and profitable. You'll be instrumental in maintaining high quality levels and performance standards, all while promoting safe working practices. As a key point of contact, you'll engage directly with customers and colleagues.
What you'll be doing:
· Ensuring all customer requirements are satisfied daily.
· Acting as a primary management interface with customers.
· Co-ordinating our own fleet and sub-contractors for cost-effective solutions.
· Day-to-day driver management, fostering team development, and providing training.
· Managing suppliers, including sub-contractors, agencies, and repair services, to control operational costs.
· Conducting regular driver, vehicle, and trailer checks to ensure high standards.
· Ensuring full compliance with all company processes, procedures, and O-License legislative responsibilities.
· Producing weekly management information reports.
What you'll bring:
· Previous experience in fast-paced transport operations.
· Strong organisational and planning abilities.
· Demonstrable responsible, ethical, and honest behaviour.
· General knowledge of current UK transport operations and legislation.
· Ideally – holder of a Certificate of Professional Competence for Transport Managers.
· Ideally, experience with O-Licence compliance.
· Excellent IT literacy, with knowledge of fleet and transport management software.
· Exceptional self-motivation and the ability to work independently.
· A true team player who can motivate others and build a strong team culture.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
