Working in the Cambridge area, attached to our Norwich office. Up to £55,000 DoE. 37 Hours per week (working 9-5 with flexible working arrangements). Norse Group's Consulting services is a national, award‑winning property consultancy delivering high profile buildings to a range of public and private sector clients across the UK. Our multi‑disciplined teams provide a range of property services, undertaking projects including residential, commercial and educational buildings of varying size and complexity, resulting in innovative, sustainable and commercially viable delivery.
We are delighted to recruit a new Senior Building Surveyor on a full‑time, permanent basis working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday with flexible arrangements. Our clients include local authorities and public sector organisations, with some private sector clients. We offer a diverse range of project and building types, including live projects within education, care homes, waste and residential sectors.
Role
As a Senior Building Surveyor, you will work alongside expert and multi‑disciplined professionals, providing technical and business advice on building surveying and maintenance across several areas, including condition, asbestos, access audits and fire risk assessments. Due to the diverse nature of our business you will have the opportunity to engage with a variety of projects, undertaking duties such as:
- Planned and preventative maintenance condition surveys
- Technical due diligence surveys for both commercial and residential properties
- Preparing and undertaking specifications, drawings and risk assessments for new builds and refurbishments
- Carrying out site surveys in relation to condition, undertaking schedules of condition, dilapidations, measured surveys and defect analysis
- Leading quality assurance across projects and services, ensuring client needs are met and legislation adhered to
- Collating and presenting findings to internal and external stakeholders, offering solutions and recommendations where required
Successful Candidate
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in a similar building surveying role and industry, supported by:
- Ability to foster professional relationships with new and existing clients
- Proven experience in a similar building surveying role
- Capacity to work independently with minimal support or within a large multi‑disciplinary team
- Experience on a variety of new build and refurbishment projects
- Knowledge of the Building Regulations and other relevant construction and building surveying legislation
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and negotiate with all levels of internal and external parties
