Alliance Norse is a partnership between Norse Group and High Peak Borough Council and Staffordshire Moorlands District Council.

The Joint Venture (JV) company was formed in 2022 to provide a number of services to the two Councils.

As from the 1st April 2025, the JV also included the Estates & Asset Management functions.

An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Surveyor/Asset Management Surveyor to join the Estates team to assist in the delivery of current Estate & Asset Management services, working alongside the established Estates team and client.

The role will require attendance in the clients Council offices at Leek but there is also the opportunity to work from the Alliance Norse modern offices at Harpur Hill.

We employ an agile and flexible working strategy allowing staff to work some days at home but the senior nature the role and requirement to liaise with the client will require office attendance at least 3 days a week.

Projects

The current workload includes a comprehensive programme of estates actions over a diverse property portfolio.

This is a senior and high-profile position within the team with the surveyor being responsible for undertaking all the activities associated at this senior level, in addition to supporting more junior team members.

This role will have extensive engagement with the clients senior management team.

In addition to all the general practice estates activities, ideally the candidate will have extensive knowledge of strategic asset management and therefore be able to take forward the actions from the clients recently completed SAMP.

  • Main Responsibilities
  • Taking responsibility for identification, reviewing and providing strategic advice on property management and regeneration issues, formulating strategic plans for the effective use of land and property assets.
  • Lead and facilitate the development of active relationships with a wide range of customers, members, officers, stakeholders and partners.
  • Undertake effective property reviews and provide proactive and responsive strategic advice on all property management issues.
  • Ensure that time and quality targets set for reporting property reviews or strategic property management issues are met.
  • Assist with the day to day/or when required, other general practice surveyor work in accordance with professional guidance and standards as appropriate.
  • Prepare reports and briefings for clients, attending committees and working groups as necessary.
  • Providing effective, day to day, professional property advice to the client and maintain output quality.
  • Working within the various agreed timescales, managing projects in accordance with initiatives and directives, endeavouring to maximise income and achieve set productivity targets.
  • Complying with the Norse Group ISO standards, delivering quality assured outputs.
  • Undertaking any other duties appropriate to the grade of the post including travel to other offices as required.

  • Chartered Membership of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS)
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent in an Estates related discipline
  • Significant relevant experience with at least 10+ years post qualification
  • Experience of having worked within a Local Authority
  • Full clean UK Driving Licence
