With nearly 450 employees across 12 subsidiaries worldwide, MVG supports prestigious customers in Telecoms (Huawei, Samsung, Sony), Aerospace & Defence (Thales, Boeing), Space (SpaceX), and Automotive (BMW, Peugeot, Renault). The Group generates over €100 million in annual revenue, with sustained growth across Europe, Asia, and the United States.
We are seeking a Project Manager to join our established Project Management team. You will be responsible for managing the design, manufacture, installation, and Site Acceptance Testing of MVG’s proprietary shielded anechoic chambers used for EMC and antenna measurement applications. This role involves managing multiple projects concurrently, ranging from small installations to complex, high-value programmes. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in construction/build management, project planning, risk mitigation, and budget control, with a mechanical or engineering background considered an advantage. The position requires direct customer interaction, cross-functional leadership, and close collaboration with global engineering, production, logistics, and construction teams to ensure successful on-time and on-budget delivery. Periodic travel to customer sites across the UK, Europe, and internationally will be required, depending on installation locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple shielded test chamber projects with values ranging from £10k to £1M.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including Gantt charts, milestones, and critical paths.
- Coordinate activities across global MVG teams (engineering, construction, logistics, quality).
Customer & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead progress reviews, status meetings, and issue resolution.
- Manage contractual obligations, scope changes, and customer expectations.
- Present technical and programme updates to customers and senior leadership.
Risk & Budget Management
- Identify programme risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
- Track costs, schedules, and performance metrics against agreed budgets.
- Manage subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring quality, compliance, and delivery performance.
Construction & Build Management
- Oversee the construction, installation, and testing of anechoic chambers and shielded enclosures.
- Coordinate with construction managers, engineers, and technicians to ensure safety and compliance.
- Experience with RF-shielded environments, cleanrooms, or controlled-environment builds is highly desirable.
Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards (e.g. MIL-STD, IEEE, ISO) and customer-specific requirements.
- Produce accurate weekly and monthly programme reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Engineering, Construction Management, or Programme/Project Management qualification (or equivalent practical experience).
- 3–5 years’ experience in construction, programme, or project management.
- Demonstrated expertise in project planning tools (e.g. MS Project), risk management and mitigation, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control, construction or specialised facility build management.
- Strong customer-facing communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Experience working with global, cross-functional teams.
- UK citizenship is required due to government contract obligations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with EMC testing, antenna measurement, RF test systems, or anechoic chambers.
- PMP, PgMP, or similar certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Knowledge of government or defence contracts (FAR, DFARS, ITAR).
- Experience managing subcontractors, including RFPs, SOWs, and performance tracking.
