MVG Industries UK Ltd is a leading provider of Shielded Enclosures and Anechoic Chambers for Defense, Aerospace, and Commercial sectors, specializing in EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) and Antenna Measurement Testing & Development solutions. We are seeking an experienced Engineering Design Manager to lead and coordinate design activities for our Shielded Enclosure and Anechoic Chamber projects. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong technical expertise who can effectively manage the UK Design Office workflow, schedule design/drafting activities, and liaise with stakeholders across the UK, Europe, and internationally to deliver world-class solutions to our diverse customer base.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the overall design and drafting workflow requirements of the UK division
- Schedule and allocate design office activities and resources to meet project demands
- Monitor progress of design work through the UK Design Office, ensuring deadlines are met
- Optimise workflow and capacity planning across multiple concurrent projects
- Coordinate with the Design Office to implement and maintain design standards, procedures, and quality control processes
- Track and report on design office workload, capacity, and performance metrics
- Lead and manage engineering design activities for Shielded Enclosures and Anechoic Chambers from concept through to completion
- Develop and implement design strategies that meet project requirements, budgets, and timelines
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements
- Review and approve technical drawings, specifications, and design documentation
- Utilize SolidWorks for 3D modeling, assemblies, and detailed design work
- Work with Autodesk Revit/Navisworks for building information modeling and project coordination
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
- Minimum 5 years' experience in engineering design, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role
- Proven track record of managing design workflows and coordinating design activities
- Experience delivering complex engineering projects on time and within budget
- Demonstrable experience scheduling and managing design resources across multiple projects
- Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks (3D modeling, assemblies, drawings, and configurations)
- Proficient in MS Office applications, particularly: MS Word for technical documentation and reports, MS Excel for scheduling, tracking, and data analysis
- Ideally experienced with Autodesk Revit and/or Navisworks for BIM and project coordination
- Familiarity with project management tools and document control systems
- Understanding of EMC principles, RF shielding, or anechoic chamber technology (highly desirable)
