Responsibilities:

  • Own the full revenue P&L across the brands portfolio: CPX, affiliate, sponsored content, display, newsletter sponsorship, licensing, sponsorship of indexes and awards, event partnerships, data licensing, and emerging products (pay-per-crawl, concierge buyer services, premium reports)
  • Set commercial strategy for each revenue stream - pricing, rate cards, yield management, packaging
  • Lead the sales motion across newsletters, anchor campaigns, data products, and digital events
  • Grow licensing as a portfolio product - expanding beyond ExpertReviews into brands including Tech.co, Startups, and EcoExperts
  • Own commercial analytics: revenue mix, subscriber economics, sponsorship pipeline, segment-level targeting capability
  • Build the commercial pitch - translating subscriber data and first-party intent signals into a compelling story for sponsors and clients
  • Partner with MVF's B2B and B2C sales teams to cross-sell brand revenue products into existing client accounts

What Success Looks Like:

  • A clear, audited baseline of revenue performance across the portfolio, with a refreshed commercial pitch built on the owned-audience story
  • Multiple new revenue streams contributing materially - across newsletter sponsorship, licensing, sponsored content, and commercial event partnerships
  • A live, forecastable sponsorship pipeline
  • Revenue mix visibly shifting toward owned-audience and data-driven income, with a clear commercial case for the audience-first model

Our Ideal MVFer:

  • Has sold media, sponsorship, or commercial partnerships in a B2B context - ideally across newsletters, content, and events. B2C experience welcome but not the centre of gravity
  • Has built or diversified a revenue model, not just managed one - can stand up a new product from a blank page
  • Treats first-party data as a commercial asset, and can articulate why engaged subscribers outperform anonymous pageviews
  • Comfortable with performance revenue (CPX, affiliate, lead-gen) and yield optimisation
  • Commercially aggressive but editorially sensitive - understands that for media brands, audience trust is the product, and revenue has to feel like a feature, not a tax
  • Comfortable building influence and credibility with sales leaders and stakeholders outside their direct reporting line
  • Excited by a content strategy grounded in expert opinion, video-first storytelling, and AI-augmented production
