The Role

You’ll leverage your technical expertise and engineering experience to empower our teams with the skills, tools, and guidance they need to build, deploy, and operate applications efficiently – delivering business value faster and more securely. Collaborating closely with engineering and product teams, you’ll ensure our services are designed to be resilient, robust, reliable, secure, and fully automated for deployment. Your role will span all aspects of our delivery pipeline and infrastructure, where you’ll design, implement, and support Continuous Delivery pipelines. As an advocate for “infrastructure as code,” you’ll prioritize automation to eliminate manual processes and drive operational excellence.

The platform engineering team supports MVF’s success both directly and indirectly, by enabling development teams to deliver business value faster, safer, and more easily.

Responsibilities:

  1. Build, operate, and enhance our platform service
  2. Contribute in strategic architecture conversations with Lead Engineers and Engineering Managers to define the future of our platform services
  3. Work alongside the Lead Engineers and Engineering Manager to define strategic approaches to engineering problems
  4. Effective cost management to identify investment and/or savings opportunities
  5. Scope, plan, and implement migrations
  6. Stay up to speed with industry best practices

  • Docker and container scheduling systems (eg ECS/EKS, Jenkins, K8s, Nomad)
  • Datadog (or similar cloud-based observability tools)
  • CI/CD (CircleCI)
  • Networking (DNS, TCP/UDP, HTTP(s), load balancers)
  • Internet service management (CDN, WAF)
  • Security concepts, best practices, and tooling (eg least privilege, AWS IAM, TLS, scanning tools)
  • User and system access management (Auth0, SSO, Oauth/OIDC, SAML)
  • Disaster recovery planning and management
  • Scripting using Python (or similar dynamic language) and Bash
