With a diverse and expanding fleet, we are looking for a highly organised Maintenance Planner to take ownership of fleet maintenance scheduling and ensure operational efficiency.
The Role
As a Maintenance Planner & Vehicle Prep Advisor, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing the maintenance schedules of our hire fleet and helping coordinate the preparation of sales vehicles. This includes ensuring all vehicles remain compliant with legal and safety standards while minimising downtime and maximising fleet availability and liaising with customers for updates. This role would suit somebody who is eager to develop their interpersonal skills and knowledge and is looking for a challenge.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and schedule all routine fleet maintenance, including: 6-weekly safety inspections, brake testing, tachograph calibrations, MOT preparation and bookings
- Coordinate and manage vehicle breakdowns, ensuring timely repairs and minimal disruption to hire operations
- Liaise with internal workshops and external service providers to book and track maintenance work
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure compliance with DVSA regulations
- Monitor fleet availability and proactively adjust schedules to meet operational demand
- Work closely with operations and hire teams to ensure seamless vehicle allocation
- Work closely with the appropriate teams responsible for preparation of sold vehicles, coordinating across the workshop, crane team and paint shop
- Provide customer updates on the preparation of their vehicles
About You
- Previous experience in a similar role and a good understanding of HGV maintenance and compliance standards would be fantastic; however, we are happy to provide training for the right candidate
- Good competency with internal systems and Microsoft Office
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple schedules effectively
- Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders
- Proficient in fleet management or maintenance planning systems
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to react quickly to breakdown situations
