We’re on a mission to make conveyancing clearer, faster, and more predictable. Founded in 2016 and headquartered in Richmond, London, with offices in Sri Lanka, Connect2Law is the parent company of two distinct brands:

  • Muve is our direct-to-consumer brand, providing cost-effective, fast conveyancing solutions to buyers and sellers – rated 4.6 on Trustpilot.
  • Nova, launched last year, is our referring partner-focused brand providing a premium service and focused on building long-term partnerships with leading estate agents and mortgage brokers – rated 4.8 on Trustpilot.

Our brands are recognised across the industry: we’re proud to have been named National Conveyancing Firm of the Year (2022 & 2024) and The Sunday Times 100 Fastest Growing Companies (2023 & 2024).

About the Role

We are seeking a CIPD-qualified HR Manager with experience across the full employee lifecycle. The ideal candidate will possess broad generalist HR expertise, a strong understanding of UK employment law, and the confidence to advise, support and coach managers at all levels. You will be comfortable managing sensitive and, at times, complex employee relations matters, demonstrating discretion, fairness, empathy and sound professional judgement. A genuine commitment to employee wellbeing is essential. With most of our UK employees working remotely, it is important that we maintain a supportive, safe, and healthy environment where regular check-ins and meaningful connections are prioritised. You will have the ability to identify when colleagues may need extra support, someone to listen, or simply an opportunity to talk. You’ll help foster a positive and inclusive culture and contribute to initiatives that promote engagement, wellbeing, and high performance. The successful candidate will be required to attend our Richmond office one day per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with managers across the business, providing expert guidance, coaching and support on the full range of HR matters, including policies and procedures, terms and conditions of employment, absence management, organisational change, performance management, disciplinary and grievance matters, and redundancy processes, ensuring a consistent, fair and legally compliant approach.
  • Proactively build positive working relationships with employees and managers, identifying and addressing workplace concerns at an early stage to prevent escalation into formal grievances or complaints.
  • Manage payroll administration and ensure employee records are maintained accurately and confidentially.
  • Oversee the recruitment process from end to end, including advertising vacancies, candidate selection, interview coordination, feedback, offer management, contracts and pre-employment checks.
  • Lead the onboarding process for new employees, ensuring a smooth and engaging induction experience that supports successful integration into the business.
  • Act as the first point of contact for employee HR queries, providing timely, professional and pragmatic advice.
  • Maintain and regularly review the Employee Handbook, policies and procedures to ensure compliance with current legislation and best practice.
  • Support the development of a positive, inclusive and high-performing workplace culture, promoting employee engagement, wellbeing and belonging.
  • Coordinate employee wellbeing initiatives and conduct regular wellbeing check-ins, providing appropriate support and signposting to our EAP where required.
  • Organise and manage company social events, including the Summer and Christmas social events, helping to foster colleague engagement and team connection.
  • Sit on the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Committee, contributing to and implementing initiatives that align with the organisation’s values and objectives.
  • Conduct exit interviews, and identify trends to support employee retention and continuous improvement.
  • Support and coordinate the annual salary review process, providing insights and recommendations to ensure fairness and consistency.
  • Manage and maintain the organisation’s Sponsor Licence, ensuring ongoing compliance with Home Office requirements, including right to work checks, share code verification, visa monitoring, record keeping, reporting duties and supporting sponsored employees throughout their employment lifecycle.
  • Lead and coordinate the annual employee engagement survey, analysing results and partnering with managers to develop and implement action plans.
  • Support the delivery of the performance appraisal process, providing guidance to managers and ensuring consistency across the business.

About You

  • Ideally 5 years’ experience in a generalist HR, HR Advisor or HR Manager role.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
  • Proven experience managing employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance cases.
  • Confident in coaching, influencing and supporting managers at all levels.
  • Able to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion, empathy and professionalism.
  • Skilled at building strong relationships and resolving issues proactively before they escalation into formal complaints or disputes.
  • Experience managing recruitment, onboarding and the wider employee lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of UK right to work legislation, sponsor licence compliance and immigration processes.
  • Experience managing HR projects and initiatives, such as engagement surveys, appraisal cycles, wellbeing programmes or organisational change.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt style to a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and HR systems.
  • Ability to commute to our Richmond office once per week.
