Position Description

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to perform inspections, installations, repairs, and rebuilds on a wide range of plant operating equipment. The ideal candidate will be able to read and interpret equipment manuals, technical drawings, and work orders to ensure the safe and efficient operation of all machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform scheduled and emergency maintenance on production equipment.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and routine checks on machinery including pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors, pumps, fillers, agitators, and motors.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues.
  • Use hoists, lift trucks, hand tools, and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE for each task.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience with Allen Bradley CompactLogix and SLC 500 systems is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to disassemble and rebuild multiple types of equipment.
  • Working with mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding (Wire Feed & Rod) as well as Oxygen/Acetylene and Plasma Cutting.
  • Strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and positive team attitude.
  • Ability to detect, isolate, and identify irregularities and malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
  • Willingness to work around large manufacturing equipment and furnaces as well as operate heavy equipment as necessary.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Effectively handle multiple priorities with minimum supervision.
  • Support LEAN implementation and actively engage in lean activities.
  • Willing and able to work varying shifts (on-call) including but not limited to: weekends, nights, and/or overtime as required. This is a full-time position.

Experience & Education

The qualified candidate must have a minimum of two years previous mechanical experience working in an industrial setting or within a manufacturing field. Strong preference will be given to those with demonstrated capabilities in working with pneumatics, production machines, hydraulics, and pumps. Knowledge working with Microsoft Office Suite a plus and those with prior PLC and HVAC experience would be given priority.
