Mute is a trailblazer in adaptable office architecture, redefining workspaces with our innovative Mute Modular system and acoustic pods. We have collaborated with top brands such as Netflix, Microsoft, and L’Oréal to create future-ready, comfortable, and sustainable offices and commercial spaces.
Our dynamic, agile, non-corporate work culture fosters autonomy, confidence and the opportunity for self-realisation in the area of your expertise. We prioritise good team relationships and open, direct communication, focusing on achieving business goals instead of creating unnecessary procedures, writing too many e-mails and organising numerous meetings.
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Business Development Lead – UK. This regional role will spearhead the development of our sales pipeline by engaging the next generation of industry leaders, building relationships with architects and design-build firms, and identifying new opportunities in the real estate sector. You will be based in the United Kingdom and collaborate closely with our global commercial team to ensure that our award-winning modular pods and acoustic solutions reach the most influential clients.
An essential part of this role is to leverage our London showroom in Clerkenwell, Europe’s largest district for contract showrooms and a hub for architects and specifiers, to actively demonstrate the functionality and versatility of our products.
What you’ll do:
- Engage industry young leaders. Identify and connect with emerging talent and future decision makers in architecture, interior design, property development and construction. Build long-term relationships that position Mute as their partner of choice.
- Develop relationships with architects and design-build companies. Manage an existing database of UK contacts and continuously expand it. Organise and lead presentations, workshops and events in our London showroom in Clerkenwell and partner showrooms across the country.
- Actively utilise the Clerkenwell showroom. Plan and deliver regular product demonstrations, CPD sessions and thought-leadership events in the showroom. Collaborate with marketing to attract architects, designers and young leaders to these sessions and highlight how Mute’s solutions can transform their projects.
- Monitor the real estate market for opportunities. Track activities of end users adopting acoustic solutions. Analyse development pipelines, office fit-out projects and workplace trends to identify sales opportunities.
- Generate and nurture leads. Actively use inbound leads from our website and marketing campaigns, nurture them into qualified projects and manage the sales cycle through to handover to the local sales team or agent.
- Coordinate with partners and internal teams. Collaborate with our global sales agents in Germany and other regions to ensure projects are allocated correctly.
- Represent Mute at events. Attend industry conferences, trade shows and networking events to increase brand visibility and develop new contacts.
- Travel and remote work. Spend approximately 50% of your time visiting clients, architects and design-build firms across the UK; dedicate the remaining time to database management, remote communications and preparation of materials.
- Report and share insights. Maintain accurate records of interactions and opportunities in the CRM. Provide regular updates on pipeline, market trends and competitive intelligence to senior management.
What you bring:
- 3–5 years’ experience in business development or sales within the architecture, design & build, furniture or interior design sectors in the UK.
- Strong network and understanding of the UK architecture and design-build community, especially among emerging professionals and young leaders.
- Familiarity with the real estate and workplace fit-out market; ability to track project pipelines and engage major end users directly.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; comfortable leading workshops and delivering training.
- Fluent in English; additional European languages (e.g., Polish, German or French) are an asset.
- Self-starter with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage travel schedules, events and remote work effectively.
- Proficiency with CRM and office software; data-driven approach to lead management and reporting.
Nice to have:
- Experience with modular construction, acoustic products or flexible workspace solutions.
- Understanding of sustainability and ESG trends in workplace design.
- Existing relationships with corporate real estate teams or developers in the UK.
Award-winning products: Our modular pods and acoustic solutions combine top acoustic performance with timeless design and offer unmatched configurability. They have been recognised with industry awards including Best of NeoCon Gold, Mixology Product of the Year, HiP Awards and the Red Dot Design Award.
Global presence with local roots: You’ll join a Polish company with 230 employees, a modern manufacturing facility in Galew (Wielkopolska), HQ in Warsaw, and a network of showrooms and partners across Europe, North America and beyond. We collaborate with over 400 distributors and work directly with high-profile corporate clients.
Rapid growth and opportunity: In this role, you will gain exposure to diverse projects and clients, with opportunities to grow within the UK team.
Innovative & sustainable culture: We invest in R&D to ensure our products remain at the cutting edge, and are committed to sustainability and ESG compliance.
Competitive package & environment: We offer a competitive base salary and performance-based bonus. As the face of our London showroom, you will work in the heart of Clerkenwell’s design district, surrounded by the latest innovations and thought leaders in the industry.
