We are looking for a strategic structurally minded Governance and Women’s Network Lead to spearhead two critical areas of MCF’s capacity-building mission. In this role, you will lead efforts to fortify the compliance and resilience of Muslim charities in an increasingly complex regulatory environment. Simultaneously, you will convene, champion, and drive strategic opportunities for our dedicated Women’s Network, addressing systemic gendered inequalities in charity funding, leadership, and public life. This part-time position is ideal for someone with an interest in charity law, compliance, or structural equity advocacy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Head of Operations with monthly/annual reporting to CEO, Board of Trustees and the Chair.
  • Support CEO with coordination with the Board of Trustees and any communication between them.
  • Serve as strategic support for the planning and execution of our annual Trustees’ Governance Summit.
  • Strategically convene and expand MCF’s Women’s Network, fostering peer-learning, mentorship pipelines, and visibility for female leaders in faith-based civil society.
  • Work alongside policy team to highlight and campaign against structural and funding disparities affecting women-led and women-focused grassroots organisations.

Person Specification

  • Interest in charity governance, compliance, legal frameworks, or capacity building within the UK non-profit sector.
  • Some experience/interest in networking, management, or advocacy focused on gender equality or intersectional equity.
  • Understanding of the structural challenges facing faith-based institutions (e.g., regulatory scrutiny, institutional bias).
  • Good presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex cluttered work into well-structured reporting/presentations.
  • Highly organised, self-motivated, and capable of managing a dual-priority part-time workload.
