Rotherham Music is seeking a Music Technology and DJ Skills Tutor to deliver high-quality, inclusive music education to children and young people across the borough. This role is ideal for someone passionate about music technology, DJ skills, and contemporary music-making, aiming to enrich lives through music.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Deliver music technology and DJ skills tuition to individuals, small groups, and classes.
- Plan and deliver engaging sessions aligned with Rotherham Music quality standards.
- Use music technology and DJ practice to support creativity, technical skill development, and musical progression.
- Maintain high expectations for all pupils and take responsibility for learning outcomes.
- Prepare effectively to meet the needs of pupils of all abilities, including those with SEND.
- Complete online registers, submit termly planning, and regular assessments to track pupil progress.
- Provide written reports on pupil progress to schools and parents as required.
- Prepare pupils for internal and external accreditation or assessment where appropriate.
- Work inclusively in line with the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion policy.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience delivering tuition in music technology, DJ skills, or related contemporary music disciplines.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection in schools.
- Grade 8 or above on principal instrument or equivalent professional experience.
Desirable:
- Degree and/or teaching qualification.
- Enhanced DBS required.
