Opera North is seeking a Director of Artistic Administration to join our Senior Leadership Team. This pivotal role is responsible for the strategic development and delivery of all artistic products for Opera North, from inception to final performance, overseeing casting, scheduling, and artistic personnel for opera, concerts, and special projects.

The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership for the Artistic Administration, Orchestra, Chorus, and Music departments, managing budgets and leading talent development initiatives to diversify our artistic talent. You will maintain excellent relationships with key artists, conductors, and agents, and work closely with the General Director and Music Director to ensure the highest quality of artistic output.

You should have significant experience in a similar role within an opera company or orchestra, extensive knowledge of the operatic repertoire, and excellent people management and communication skills.

This senior leadership position works closely with the General Director, Music Director, and Deputy General Director to build efficient schedules, manage new commissions, and meet key funder KPIs. You will oversee key personnel including the Senior Producer, Head of Orchestra & Concerts, Head of Music, Company Manager, and Chorus Manager.
