About the Team:

PPL’s Member Services team manages the enquiries of our membership across both performer and recording rightsholder categories. Our Member Services team is passionate about music and works to help ensure all our members’ accounts are up to date so they are able to collect the royalties they are owed when their recorded music is played on radio, TV, online and in public.

What you’ll be doing:

We are now looking for a passionate, well connected and proactive Member Development Manager to lead our recruitment strategy across both performer and record company members. As Member Development Manager, you will shape and deliver PPL’s plan to recruit high-value and emerging performers and recording rightsholders, both in the UK and internationally. You’ll develop and manage strategies that strengthen our member base, secure new mandates, and enhance our presence across the global music industry. Working closely with the Business Development Operations Manager and wider Member Services leadership team, you will leverage your industry knowledge, networks and commercial insight to drive revenue growth and deliver an exceptional onboarding experience for new members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement PPL’s recruitment strategy for new performers and rightsholders.
  • Identify, contact and onboard high-profile and up-and-coming Artists and Recording Rights Holders.
  • Deliver against targets for acquiring international mandates and new members.
  • Build and maintain strong networks across artist management, labels, accountants, lawyers and other industry stakeholders.
  • Attend gigs, showcases, panels and events (including evenings/weekends, UK and international travel).
  • Represent PPL professionally through presentations, talks and panel discussions.
  • Research and plan event attendance to maximise recruitment opportunities.
  • Line-management of a Member Development Executive.

About You:

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about music, commercially minded, and confident engaging with high-profile industry figures. You’ll bring energy, initiative and a strategic approach to developing PPL’s member base globally.

Key Requirements:

  • At least five years’ successful management experience of working within a service delivery, target driven environment, managing people, workflow and service levels.
  • A strong music industry background is essential with excellent understanding of rights, royalties and the wider industry landscape.
  • Existing relationships with managers, artists, record labels or industry bodies.
  • High computer literacy (MS Office, data input, CRM/database management).
  • Confident communicator with strong presentation, influencing and networking skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and thrive under pressure.
