Benenden School is looking for a Self-Employed Singing Teacher to join us from April 2026, working within our thriving Music Department with stunning new, purpose-built facilities. The successful candidate will be an inspirational figure who is able to teach Singing up to and beyond Grade 8. This is a Visiting Teacher role on our Associate Staff, currently amounting to around 6 hours of teaching per week, but with scope for more hours in the future.
Benenden is one of the leading day & boarding schools in Britain. Founded in 1923, the School is situated in 250 acres of attractive parkland in Kent. There are 550 girls in the school, aged 11-18, the majority of whom are boarders, complemented by approximately 50 day students. Benenden is at the forefront of girls’ education in the UK, with recent innovations including the Benenden Diploma, a bespoke curriculum for our youngest two-year groups, and the Professional Skills Programme, teaching the Sixth Form skills for the workplace.
The current parental charge is between £55 and £65 per hour. SEVTs invoice parents directly for lessons. Completed applications should be received by 9:00am on Wednesday 4th February 2026. Interviews are likely to be held the week commencing Monday 23rd February 2026.
The post-holder will be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children with whom they come into contact. They must ensure compliance with the School’s Child Protection Policy Statement at all times; this appointment will be subject to enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service checks.
