We are seeking an outstanding Teacher of Violin and Viola to join our talented team of visiting music teachers at Oxford Prep School from April 2026. The successful candidate will be an accomplished musician with a genuine enthusiasm for working with children, many of whom will be beginners, aged between 4 and 11. Proven experience working with this age group is essential.

The school has a thriving music department, with over 70 girls receiving instrumental lessons each week and a wide range of orchestral and ensemble opportunities available. Depending on the interests and skills of the appointed teacher, there may also be scope to develop small ensemble work as the role evolves.

You will be engaged on a self‑employed basis, term time only. You will be responsible for creating your own timetable, in line with school guidelines, to ensure weekly lessons of 30 minutes are taught to your pupils. The number of pupils will vary due to demand.
