The successful candidate for this position will be a 1099 contractor with Music Ministry International and be responsible for the following:
Environment
- The RAF Mildenhall (RAFM) Chaplain Corps mission is tailored around the 100 ARW Wings mission. We provide for the religious and spiritual needs of the Air Force personnel and their families.
- The environment in which this contract is implemented is a religiously pluralistic and sensitive arena of numerous faith groups and denominational traditions.
- The A/V specialist accomplishes the terms of the contract in compliance with the mission requirements and standards set forth and defined by the Department of the Air Force and the Air Force Chaplain Corps.
Scope of Responsibilities
- The Protestant Multi-media A/V specialist for the RAFM Protestant Parish will assist the Protestant Chaplain and Music Director in providing worship services as directed by the Protestant Chaplain.
- This will entail serving as a resource person, advisor, and coordinator of multimedia audio-visual production organisation and dissemination for the Protestant Chapel Community.
- The A/V specialist consults and coordinates with the Protestant Chaplain and the Wing Chaplain.
Qualifications
- The A/V specialist must be able to submit the following items: Resume, two letters of recommendation, documentation of training and bid schedule.
- Required two years experience as a Multi-media worship coordinator unless waived due to significant experience in other aspects of audio/visual training and service. Strong preference shall be given to experience in a military service chapel.
- The A/V specialist shall submit a completed SF85 and OF306 forms to the background check manager within five days of award of contract.
- A/V specialist will have fingerprints taken within 15 days of award of contract. It is mandatory that all A/V specialists working with children under the age of eighteen have a favourable background investigation.
- The A/V specialist must be knowledgeable and experienced with Multi-media equipment including all current chapel sound and video equipment and software e.g. PRO Presenter, Planning Centre, iTunes, Final Cut Pro X and current soundboard configuration etc.
- A/V specialist must have at least two years experience in pre- and post-production video editing and filming.
- Have knowledge and skills commensurate with operation of associated audio equipment to include: electronic mixer, amplifiers, digital system processor, personal monitor system (Aviom), wireless microphones, computer, CD player and portable media.
- Have knowledge and skills commensurate with operation of associated video equipment to include: computer-based presentation software, video projector and large screen television.
- A working knowledge of video recording and reproduction is preferred but not essential.
- The A/V specialist shall acquire additional training as needed to provide required services.
Duties and Responsibilities
- The A/V specialist will adhere to dress and appearance standards appropriate to an office/church environment.
- The A/V specialist will provide Multi-media support including all audio and visual requirements for worship services and rehearsals.
- The A/V specialist will operate and maintain all Multi-media equipment ensuring that all equipment is in working order.
- The A/V specialist is responsible to provide recruitment, training and development for all A/V volunteers.
- The A/V specialist will provide quarterly training of staff on operation of equipment.
- Arrive at least two hours prior to the start of each service to oversee all Multi-media setup and depart after all post-service equipment clean-up has been accomplished.
- The A/V specialist must have access to the CCLI Song Select website.
- The A/V specialist may need to add songs manually or access the CCLI website at an alternate location and bring in the song lyrics on removable media.
- Adding pre-service videos and/or announcement slides to the schedule.
- Perform one (1) rehearsal per week and as needed for special worship services.
- The A/V specialist will ensure all sermons for each weekly service are recorded and saved to the computer or flash drive.
- The A/V specialist will provide Multi-media support for special events such as Vacation Bible School.
- Maintain Protestant social media sites (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Podcast, Google, YouTube etc.) in accordance with established policies and pre-approval of the Protestant Chaplains and the Wing Chaplain or designee.
- When applicable, the A/V specialist will ensure that the sermons and/or worship services are uploaded weekly to social media as directed by the Protestant Chaplain.
- The A/V specialist will comply with all applicable Air Force and local instructions for financial management, facility use, maintenance, transportation etc.
- The A/V specialist is accountable for paying any Social Security payments, Federal or Local Income Taxes and State Unemployment Insurance premiums for themselves as well as any individual employed or subcontracted by them to provide services under this contract.
