£55 per hour (for up to 3-hour sessions), £240 per day (for days exceeding 3 hours)

Armonico Consort seeks disciplined, reliable Choir Workshop Leaders for Phase 2 of its partnership with the Transformation Trust from January 2026. You’ll deliver high-energy, structured, ambitious sessions preparing schools for a spring operetta. Consistency, planning & musical authority are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver weekly, structured choir sessions in assigned schools, following Armonico Consort’s AC Academy “house style”
  • Provide clear behaviour expectations, firm classroom control and high engagement at all times
  • Use written session plans for every workshop (to be shared on request)
  • Actively correct intonation, posture, breath support, diction and tone
  • Demonstrate clear progression across sessions towards performance readiness
  • Use provided resources and repertoire fully prepared and in advance
  • Maintain punctuality, reliability and professional communication with schools and Armonico staff
  • Attend mandatory training and feedback sessions with AC’s Lead Choral Director
  • Support and attend spring rehearsals and performances

Failure to meet expected standards in planning, musical delivery, behaviour management or professionalism may result in immediate removal from the programme.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience leading choirs or vocal workshops with children
  • Strong behaviour management and leadership presence
  • Confidence in leading vocal warm-ups and technique
  • Ability to plan sessions with clear musical and behavioural outcomes
  • Excellent reliability, organisation and communication
  • Understanding of safeguarding & professional boundaries
  • Willingness to receive and act on direct feedback
  • Enhanced DBS
  • Right to work in the UK
    (Piano/keyboard skills strongly preferred)

All work will be delivered in accordance with the legal, safeguarding and data protection obligations contained in the Armonico–Transformation Trust agreement.
