The following opportunities are available for candidates passionate about teaching and inspiring young people to learn to play a musical instrument. If you’re enthusiastic about empowering students through music and eager to contribute to a supportive, creative team, we’d love to hear from you.

Closing Date: 7th May 2026 at 22:00

  • Post A – Woodwind Vacancy Shelley area, including Saturday mornings
    Teaching individual/small group lessons and ensemble directing. All woodwind instruments to be taught, including double reed. 6 ½ hours available per week, teaching both at Musica Shelley and schools across the Shelley area during term time.
  • Post B – Woodwind Vacancy (maternity cover) Holme Valley/Huddersfield area, including Saturday mornings
    Teaching individual/small group lessons and ensemble directing. 14 hours currently available per week, consisting of 2 ½ days plus ½ a day on Saturday mornings, teaching both at Musica Holme Valley and multiple schools in the Holme Valley/Huddersfield area during term time. The postholder will also be expected to teach Whole Class Instrument Learning (WCIL) in addition to the individual/small group lessons.
  • Post C – Piano/Keyboard Vacancy (maternity cover) Holme Valley area
    Teaching individual/small group lessons. Currently 3 hours available per week, teaching in the Holme Valley area during term time, although the successful applicant could potentially increase these hours through recruitment.

*Posts B & C could be covered by the same applicant or available as a job share (i.e. one woodwind teacher/one piano/keyboard teacher). Please specify which post(s) you wish to apply for when submitting the application.

New teachers have an excellent opportunity to expand their teaching through 15 hours of paid recruitment time as directed by their line manager. You will require an Enhanced DBS and be able to travel between schools each working day.
